DIRT I HAD TILLED FOR MY GRAVE: FROM DEATH TO LIFE
I laid myself in the pit I had dug
Closed my eyes and said goodbye
to both my dark and the sun
Life had passed
Nothing was left
But that was but a blink before my eyelids burned red
Shining, blinding my sealed eyes,
A light brighter than the sun and my dark
Now I could see for the first time
This light flooded my veins
And lifted me from these death chains
He used this very soil -- dirt I had tilled for my grave--
to make a garden
of hope
on display.
